A woman wearing a red and black saree (traditional Indian dress) standing in front of a building with a red door, holding a notepad in her left hand and a blue pen in her right hand, looking down at the notepad as she writes. To her left are ~10 large sacks of produce leaned against each other in front of the building, next to a scale.

S4S Technologies’ mission

S4S Technologies provides smallholder farmers in India with solar-powered food preservation and processing capabilities at the farm gate. S4S can process a variety of materials without using coal, wood, or electricity—preventing both waste and CO2 emissions from India’s food and beverage industries.

“One of the key pillars for S4S is designing and manufacturing the right technology that can be easily operated by women farmers in their villages. Technical assistance from the Autodesk Foundation helped S4S become customer centric and create processes to scale up our manufacturing activities.”
